That's why I'm doing the mesh. Don't go with the shiny aluminum. Apparently there is a black that body shops use.

Well hit my first major road block. Found out why there was so much sealant on my timing chain cover...

LOL! I think you MAY have found a problem or three. Two twisted off bolts on the timing cover and a timing chain that is badly worn. Yup, that's gonna need some attention. Good luck on the bolts. Those can be a bear.

I wonder what to do to get those bolts out? My heads cleaned up extremely well and look beautiful.

You can try penetrating oil, then heat, then penetrating oil, etc on the one that protrudes. It probably won't come loose but its worth a try. However, on the other you'll have to drill it and try an eazy-out. But it'll take heat, penetrating oil, etc on it as well. And by heat I mean a LOT.

For the intake I went with the Elderbrock Performer (non egr), and the carb is the Summit M2008, 600 cfm. Gasket and the silicone gasket maker will arrive tomorrow. Goal is to paint the engine, and install the intake this weekend.

Only thing i'm concerned about is the engine balance. And which harmonic balancer / flex plate to use.

Don't think I can help you with that. Did the balance on 351's change at some point?

Not sure, do we have any forum experts on the matter? Maybe i'll give the machine shop a visit and ask them.
