Is it ALL your gauges (except the ammeter) or just the gas gauge? Generally, if it's the
three gauges besides the ammeter all reading too high or too low at the same time, the
culprit is the voltage regulator on the back of the instrument cluster - it connects to the
circuit film using what look like 9V battery clips.

To test the wiring & gas gauge, turn the ignition to ACC; then, disconnect the wire from the
sending unit, the gauge should swing fully in one direction (I believe E but don't remember
for certain). Then, ground that wire to the chassis, the gauge should swing fully to the other
direction. If these tests pass and it's not the three gauges all reading too high or too low
simultaneously, then the problem is in the sending unit.

Body Work needed:

All this bondo needs cutted out and redone. I debating on just buying a new fender.

Left side of the bed is pretty bad. I'm going to start looking for a new bed shortly.

More of the bed and some rust damage.

Right door...the right fender is perfect though.

In general, thinner sheet metal is used and people have reported fitment problems.

I like the speakers mounted in the map pocket area. You get good sound out of there? I am debating on where to mount the 2nd set, and either where you have them, or in the dead space in the rear corners of the cab are where I am going to go.

So is there some reason people don't use the stock door location for a speaker. My door doesn't have speakers in it anymore, and the PO decided to put 2 little speakers behind the seat instead of putting 6-1/2 in the stock location. I see you put speakers in the door below the stock location so it makes me wonder if something is wrong with the stock location.

I don't mean to hijack your thread. I just didn't think that question was worth making a new thread for. That truck looks good, and the interior is in great shape. Rust sucks doesn't it, but if it wasn't for rust Ford wouldn't need to make new trucks would they.

No you didn't hijack, that sorta the idea I had behind my thread. Actually received this truck from my father and they were already pre cut out... i'm not sure why he had it done, but I will ask. I do know 6 by 9's are pretty popular and common. Not only that but with the size and location I find it sounds alot better.

The exhaust on my truck is pretty strong what could this be from? Is it cause I dont have my smog working? Or could it be my carb is running to rich?
