Preventing Theft

If you're looking to keep someone from boosting it for a joyride, locking it and taking the keys goes a long way. A joyrider looking for a quick ride will find something else (such as a earlier model GM that will start with a screwdriver) to boost. Ragtops are an easy target for joyriders.
If you're wanting to keep a pro off your ride - short of rigging your truck with explosives you're not going to stop a chop shop thief.

Or install a hidden switch that does the same thing as the start relay. ANything that makes it harder will help but nothing is fool proof short of pulling something that completely disables the vehicle.
I has a buddy of mine that went through the trouble to locate the main wires to the PCM and installed a switch that cut them off. Depends on what you are willing to do.
