Are the lift springs weak or the hinges dry, you should be able to get it started and past the second safety catch with one hand, then your other hand is free to lift it on up.

yes this is going to be the hauler for my 1929 Pontiac rat rod.... plan on turning the fire bed into a wedge bed with storage. Plan on lowering and air bags on rear to lower it till the bed is on the ground to load the car... goal here is NO ramps... getting to old for that crap !....lol
Anyone looking for the louvers that go in front of the radiator ? I pulled mine out to put the inter cooler up there. They are in good shape. Hate to scrap them
Open the doors. Seems silly but it transfers just enough weight forward to really help on my C900.
Heeeyyy... that's what I said. I always just open the passenger door since it's right there handy when you are unlatching the cab anyway. With one door open my cab is very well balanced. Both doors open makes my cab want to stay open, it's actually hard to pull back down.
I am restoring a 1977 C8000 currently. It's an ex pumper truck. Fire body was long gone by the time I brought her home. Cab is in rough shape and the frame was shot from the transmission back. I just finished cutting it in half tonight. I have new frame from the junk yard I'm going to weld on for the last 13'. She has a GVRW of 35,000lbs.
