Do I have an FMX block?

Well I started looking at all the places where the block would have numbers.

Numbers on Block are D1AE-6015-A2C

It appears to have four numbers behind the intake mani where the oil pressure sender is but the first number is distorted it might be a 3,8,X? then J21.

Head on driver side D3AE-G2B

I was checking where the motor mounts bolt up on the block and its dead nuts the same as this know FMX http://image.wetpaint.com/image/1/jg...5103/GW645H483

The tranny that came with the engine had a removable bell housing and had a big pattern. Its currently bolted to a big pattern C6.

Read the posts here. Doesn't look like it.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...agon-400s.html

You are trying to determine if you have a 400 block with the SBF bell pattern, right? That's a D3... casting number if I'm understanding the posts correctly. Head & manifold casting numbers mean nothing, it's the block casting.

The FMX also could have had the 335/385 pattern bell afaik, so just because there was/is an FMX doesn't make the block anything rare.

Yea, the D3...indicates 1973, but the D1... is a 1971 revision. Either could have been in a '73.
