Bill Hewitt's "Spot the shop truck" had 798k when it died a couple of months ago.

After you watch the video, you have to agree that they didn't baby the truck. My personal only has 67k on it...only the ICP & tires have been changed on it. Well those two items along with the engine oil, all the filters (except air) and the coolant. Nice to have a low maintenance truck compared to the 200k mile Explorer that was traded in on the Pavement Princess.
Edit: Just watched that video again...Oops! That's a 7.3L, not exactly the same thing...sorry guys.

mine has 37k on it.
I have had a 400k truck in my stall before with the orig engine guy was a hot shot driver.
I have heard of a 6.0e van with 600k on it.
I see trucks in the 175-250k all the time.
I just put a ficm and an alterntor on a friends truck with 256k last week

On the basis of your experience and expertise....
Suppose we are talking about impeccably well maintained 6.0s that is stock with no mod chips, etc. and not overstressed by overloading.
Suppose it is well cared for, oil and fluids changed religiously, and clearly beneficial mods like the coolant filter done but not things like EGR delete.
What would you say are the big "break points" 6.0 to start requiring major repairs / maintenance?
e.g. things like new injectors, new turbos, etc.
I am speaking of things actually wearing out or breaking from old age....
What would you say is the ultimate economic life of a 6.0 before it is so old that it is major rebuild time?
i.e. remove from vehicle.... complete rebuild?

My company runs about 50 ford diesel trucks and they are all 6.0s with the exception of one 7.3 and they all have lots of miles on them. At least 150k to 200k and they seems to all be running fine. There is not much down time with them either. I think the 6.0 got a bad wrap too early. The other thing about these super duties is that even at 200k the truck itself is still in great shape, which is a lot more than I can say for any high mileage chevy or dodge I have personally seen.

I had quite a problem with corrosion on mine. Even successfully claimed on the corrosion warranty!
A fair amount of electrical problems from corrosion of switches, connectors, etc.
Otherwise... in fine shape.
Fortunately Ford parts are modest in cost compared to GM or Dodge...
And very cheap compared to the Sprinter.
