LOOKING FOR CREW CAB

i currently own a 2000 f350 crew, but i've been looking for a 73-79 crew for a second/project truck. i can't seem to much of anything out there. were production #'s low? any advice as to where i should be looking? maybe i'm not using the right keywords in my internet searches. i live on long island new york and i've never seen a 73-79 crew on the road. a crew is a must for me cause i'm married with three kids. any help would be appreciated.
thanks,
-ed

p.s. i know i'm probably asking for too much but, i'd like a 4x4 long bed.

you won't find an original 4x4 longbed...so if you see any ..check to see if it was a shortbed that was lengthened AND done correctly OR was it a 2wd longbed converted to 4wd AND done correctly, they are out there, I have 3 that I am combining into 1 w/ all the options in NJ... A guy just sold one on ebay in PA for 2500 w/ an extra cab and bed...good luck

Like Bob said no crew long bed 4x4's unless someone built it themselves.

When you begin your search for a crew make sure before you buy it that you or someone with knowledge inspects it. They have some serious rust issues above the drip rail and can cause some severe damage. I spent the better part of 2 years waiting to find mine.

OldFordcrewcabs is a good spot to look for a used one. There is alway a post there about the crews for sale. They were not real popular in the Midwest and Eastern states. Most of the crews that have been up for sale are coming out of the PNW.

Worth a trip out there...used to live up in WA state and made many trips into Vancouver and Vancouver Island, beautiful country. Heck, even Alberta is nice. Use it as an excuse to get out there.
