youd be suprised how even when a certain thing is hitting the fan, how composed people can stay. but, there are also some times when you can tell how bad the call is by how people are talking (shouting) on the radio. an FDNY chief said it best; "no screamers, no storytellers"

ken,
yeah me too. as far as jobs go. i had more than 3 beers and a couple of shots.
and whatnot but i can handle that. me and erin went to the bar and had a couple of beers but that was about it. then we had a few friends over and had a good time.
then after that my cat icy started messing with me that was fun. she is smart and a good girl. i wanted my coat and she wouldn't let me so i had to get firewood without it.
but other then that it went well.

yeah, especially on those crazy calls, but you learn to take a step back, and control/calm yourself. its kinda hard to describe, but I hope you get what I mean.
when you get multi department calls and other towns involved the radio traffic can get wild, when everybody and their cousin is going to the same call.
alright folks, Im off for alittle bit, but Ill be on later (you have been warned lol)
