Wow! I looked at that thing about 1.5 years ago when he was selling it for something like $300 or $400. I passed on it because the bottom of the fenders and doors were rusted completely through and everything was rough.

However, at this price, parts is parts. I already emailed him. Waiting on his response. Hopefully, I can get it this Saturday or Sunday.

Ilya, I knew when I saw "Modesto" you'd be all over it, then I Googled the distance from San Jose and I knew you couldn't pass it up.

How do you survive out there with all these truck deals dropping out of the sky on you?

There were a ton of these trucks in use in the fields in the valley...driving down 99 you can see them pretty much anywhere you look. One time when I was coming back from Sacramento I looked at the local CL ads and made a day out of stopping along the way home picking up F100 odds and ends...might have to do that again real soon!

I did the same about 3 years ago. I sold a 57 Ranchero to a guy up in Paradise (CA), which is about 4 hrs north of me. I then made a detailed route on the return trip home by looking through the CL ads. By the time I was home, I had the back of a pick up loaded with an old gas pump, a 48-50 hood and small misc parts. The 18 ft car trailer was loaded with a 48-50 cab, and a 51 Ford F1. Inside the bed of the F1 was a spare front 51/52 clip and the inside of the cab contained loose parts. Talk about being loaded to the max! See pictures below.

I'm still waiting to hear back from the guy about this. Hopefully, it's still available.

Hi Mike. Yes, I remember you. I was at your place a little over 3 years ago.

Does this look familiar?

After you, I went to Patterson and picked up more. This was how I came home.

So far, I've sent another email to the guy and haven't heard a response. I'm hoping that he's busy because of the New Year thing and he is moving. Hopefully, he'll check his email sometime soon and get back to me. I plan to go on Sunday morning if he's available.

Thank you for the offer. I'll PM you. I'll likely need help.

With the money I made on that haul, I laughed all the way to the bank! Actually, I put all of the money into my 52 Panel and bought a few other things.

I think that I made about 5x what I spent on it.

Is it just me or do those fenders (form the craigslist add) look overly wide? Also look at the openings in the valance for the frame horns....they seem a bit wide as well. Do you suppose the front clip is from a F-7 or larger truck?

Still, you can't beat the price

Bobby

They're definitely F1. The lower valance has been cut and the fenders are sitting loose. I looked at this stuff some time ago when he was selling it.

Bobby, the front fenders on the larger F-7 & 8 are noticeably wider:

I understand you problem with the differences, they're just so ugly you can't look at them for a long enough period of time. Luckily, I've built up a tolerance over the years and I can stand to look at them longer than most people.
