I'm having some issues with my 96 and I dont know on what may be wrong with it. ....So here is what it is doing:

The truck is surging and acting like it wants to die. When it does this, the "crackle" of the motor is louder.
It is running bad and getting worst.
My MPG have dropped off by 5 mpg.
So, any suggestions?

1996 F350 , 151,000 miles.
large down pipe, no kitty, straight piped
Tymar filter
6 position chip
Fuel Filter is changed.
Screen to filter clean.
Oil changed

 

you arent interested in doing this yourself? with the right help... echem we can get you back and running. i would unplug your chip. and check the injector harnesses at the valve covers. if you dont know how to, just ask. good luck

 

I think gobstopper hit this one on the head. You should also be throwing some codes.

 

X2. i would pull the valve covers and check them out. probably not too good. get the codes pulled as well if you can. don't know anybody in Katy either...
