I have found many pairs in the last 3 years for my trucks. At supernat's I bought a few this year. I have a guy in Ky.,with alot of parts. He sells at the Nat's also.
Look on craigslist also. The new fenders are ok....but I do body and paint work. If you cannot.....then find a pair of nos....a guy near Atlanta had some last I heard.
I personally won't pay those prices,but if you want nos....there they are,Bill

Stuart,

If I am not mistaken they used repops on the 06' Giveaway truck built by NO-Limit. As Bill mentioned you might be able to find a good used pair. I have a thought process you have to adjust/tweak the original ones just like you would the repops but the original feels like a heavier gauge BUT the repops have NO rust in them . Me and Bill are always hunting parts. Let me know if you need help hunting. Happy Holiday to you.

fenders

Donald,

rust is my concern even on a nice pair......

I had to throw away everything on my truck but the cab and frame.....

I have a brand new bed and want to try to use new front fenders if the fit is good.....if not I know of a stash of used fenders....LOL

The only other used sheet metal I need is a 53-55 hood in great shape( don't want a 56 hood because of the 2 bolts in back of hood)

The guy Bill mentioned in KY, Lyle Daniels, may have a good hood. I have a pretty good used hood of a 53 F250. The repop hoods dont have the two bolt holes I think. I have one of them as well. Let me know I have an additional source that may have a good slant cab hood for sale.

i bought a set of bebop front fenders, really good quality, as for fit let just say the truck itself fit and finishin those days weren`t that greatest, if you put a straight edge on the side of each hood one side is 1/4 inch wider in the center causing fender gap problems, i would have to modify this anyway if they were used or new steel fenders.

I used repops 5 years ago. I had tried to buy good used fenders on Ebay, but they were not as good as described. My repops fir Ok. I did have to use a persuader to get some of the lower holes to align, but it wasn't too bad. The good part is that you don't have to inspect and treat for rust problems. Good luck, Jag

This question has been asked many times about the 56 hood having these to bolts in the back of the hood. I've got 3 56 trucks and had 1 53, and the 53 is the only one that has these 2 bolts you speak of, and I'm yet to get an answer.

Donald is correct...as far as I remember over 33 years of 56 ford trucks, the hood bolt heads in the rear center are 1956 only. 56panel...maybe a mix up one time and someone installed a 56 hood on a 53?

I am leaving soon to deliver 2 1956 cabs and will stop at Lyles on the way down and ask him....unless Donald sees him first.
I also have lots of other places to buy from(used),but really getting overloaded with parts.....will have to have a 53-56parts party!!!LOL

A buddy down in the next town from me has asked me a few times if I would trade original nice front fenders for his fiberglass fenders on his 40k show truck. He is not happy with them, and I even said I would trade, but he decided to sell it.
To locate good rust-free or for me(cheap) panels.....you must constantly look and search.....when you are tired of looking.....someone will call with 2 sets....LOL

I'd buy that but not when all three 56's I have didn't have those bolts unless there was a difference in the manufacturing between the US and Canada

Could have been a factory install using up 53-55 hoods left over....but I would think Ford would use the 56 hood on the 56 since it was the ''new'' upgrade in design, for the time.
I have a 53 and it has no carriage bolts in the back center....and have an original 53....and it still has original bed wood and 6 volt.....Bill

Donald...does that 53 hood have the F250 badges still on it??..I'm having a hard time finding the F250 badges for my 55..I'm a bit new at this, but I'm pretty sure they are the same??..Terry

No I see the imprint(residue) of where the emblems were there. Do you need a set for a 250?

Yep...the PO told me that they were stolen during his restoration (sounds bogus to me)..I think he sold 'em off and threw a couple of F100's on the hood to fill up the holes!..I have a 55 F250 Flatbed./..pictures to come along soon...Terry
