I know this is a ford truck board, but i saw this and had to shout about it.

Too bad the cid is closer to 305 than 302, but its cool that that V-8 can get up to 7000 rpm. Most of our production motors in our beasts barely made it over 5000 rpm.

Now just if the Bronco would come back too....

Actually, I beleive the trucks get the new '5.0' too... the 5.0 and 6.2 should be set to replace the modular crap 4.6 and 5.4...

The old 302 was really a 4.9L motor, just that the marketing generously rounded the 302 metric displacement to 5.0L where the old chevy 305 really was a 5.0L. The 427 was a whole different beast where the actual was 425 but called a 427 because the max displacement from one of the racing associations max displacement rule. If you really wanted to get nitpicky you could find other engines that were rounded generously or cut short for whatever reason...

haha the old 427 ci limit... what ever happened to the good ol days of cars and trucks and NASCAR racin?

Lets not even get started on horsepower numbers...

The 5.0 and 6.2 are still "modular" engines.
