I have a 99 250 7.3 and I'm getting dts codes p1670 and p0340 the truck started but run ruff now just turns over and like tries to fire so its like cranking fire cranking fire like it out of fuel almost but got fuel and new filter so any help out there would greatly be appreciative thanks

 

P0340=CPS problem, have you had the recall done yet?

The P1670 – When a commanded Injector Driver Module (IDM) response is not received this fault is set. Could mean an Under Valve Cover Connector (UVC) having come loose.

 

Change the CPS and see if that doesn't fix it. As mentioned, there's a recall on these right now. Just don't buy one from your local parts store. If you buy one, get it from Ford or International.

If you lie under the radiator and look towards the passenger side of the motor you'll see it. A sensor with two wires going to it. Also that 1670 error can mean that the IDM isn't getting at least 10.1 volts to it. Here is link on Guzzles site with a pic...

also I'm not getting any fuel to the filter i checked the pump with my hand to see if it was on when i turn the key on and it was but then i turned it off and back on and it wasn't so is it possible the pump is bad should it run constantly
