Shock absorbers for Mustang II front end

I just installed new coil springs in the truck (1954 F100) and the shock is approx 3/4 of an inch too short to re install due to the new springs being so firm

I was using the Monroe 32118. Does anyone know of another model with a slightly longer overall length?

Or possibly a different vehicle that uses a similiar shock

Two part story;

Is this with the A-arm unsuspended (hanging down) or with the vehicles weight on it? In road state the shock would / should seldom be fully extended, it sounds like jacking up on the lower A-arm will not get enough compression of the coil spring to attach the shock, is the engine etc in vehicle?

Any good (?) parts store or somewhere on the net will be a listing of Monroe shocks by part number / dimensions.

Hi There F1

Yes the Vehicle is on Jack stands. I tried to jack up the control arm to reduce the travel but didnt work. Maybe I will try that again

I contacted Monroe directly and they were not any help aside from giving me dimensions of the part

OK, but you didn't address if the engine is installed, or if your vehicle weight in on the front. You won't be able to collapse the spring without weight on the nose to install the shocks, so if you have a bare frame up front, don't worry about them until you're closer to finished. That 3/4" will take care of itself then. This is all perfectly normal.
