Park Brake Equalizer Spring...need solution

My state inspection failed for the parking brake., I have to replace the left rear cable since it retracts but wont release (broken conduit collar where it goes in the wheel housing).

Looking at my Chilton's manual, I realized the spring is missing that connects to the eye in the end of the adjusting rod/nut on the single front cable at the equalizer. It looks like a long spring goes from the rod back to a plate on the crossmember in front of the gas tank.

I can't find anyone listing this spring. Maybe any old spring would do, but what could I look at as a substitute...maybe another truck, model, year...length of spring?

Hey...thanks a ton guys! I have the standard cab so I think it's the 133" wheelbase. I'll check out the LMC part...if it won't work I'll be calling Bowman.

Man, you'd think "it's JUST a spring" and should be interchangeable with a ton of vehicles.

I used a brake shoe return spring (the long one) which has worked quite well for several years.

I might stick that on for a try....I've got an entire spring kit for both brakes that I was going to put on anyway.

my truck doesn't have any springs at the equalizer rod where the front cable mates to the two rear cables. Does anyone have a picture of this with the springs installed?

Here ya go, note, in this picture the threaded rod is upside down. It should come from underneath, not on top.

ok, completely different than what I have. On mine, there are no c-clamps. Mine has the two rear lines come up and slide through the u-shaped bracket. Then the front cable comes down and goes through a crossmember, and goes through the center of the u-shaped bracket. No spring, no solid-mounted bar (silver one you have that is connected to the spring). I wonder if mine is just missing stuff, or if there are different layouts.
