03 F250- od light blinking, check engine light on, drive wont work
I just took off to follow my girlfriend home. I made it a few houses away and the o/d light started blinking and it would go anywhere in drive. I shut it of tired it again and the check engine light came on, and still wouldn't work in drive, od light still blinking. Put it in reverse and it drove, put it in 2nd gear and it drove. Got back to my house tried putting it in drive and nothing. Check engine light is still on and the od light is still blinking. Ive researched the posts but mostly just see people will problems with the od light blinking and rough shift. couldnt really find anything with trucks not working in drive. WOndering if nayone has any ideas what it could be before i get it towed to the shop to get my lights read. Thanks for the help!
When my O/D light started blinking...I was lucky it still got me home. But unlucky with the results...as my torque converter went out...and took the 4R100 tranny with it.
it dosent sound good, where are you located? is your truck gas or diesel, 2wd or 4x4. i have a 2wd 4r100 gas trans in very good condition i would sell cheap.
I went through this with my 96 F150 5.0 4x4 Auto. It set a code for the shift linkage position shifter, but in reality, my Torque converter was done. It seemed fine to drive, but would just lose drive once and a while. The resolve was a new trans and torque. Good luck!
Check your voltage with engine running. If your alternator took a dump, it will affect everything else with electric controls, solenoids, etc.
It damn sure will!
The last time my batteries croaked in '07, the guages went dead, the check engine light came on, and the OD trans light kept flashing. Replaced both batteries and alternator and she's much better now.
Hey guys... sorry it took so long to get back on here. It ended up being a wire that goes from the 02 sensor to the tranny module that was stripped. All set to go now and it was covered at the dealers cost.
