Can someone explain this temp differance between EOT/ECT..So if my oil is always running between 130+140F.And outside temp around 25F my coolant is usally at 190f.Is this an issue??

Ryan...your EOT always starts out much lower than your ECT. Then eventually after several miles at normal driving conditions the EOT will exceed the ECT. Your ECT being around 185-190*F seems normal, however your EOT seems very low. Are you driving distances greater than 10 miles? The variance between the two (if greater than 15*F), indicates that your oil cooler may be restricted (blocked possibly from casting sands), which is a key indicator that your oil cooler is about to go, or that without the proper coolant flow, your egr cooler will be subjected to failure. Good ideal to keep an eye on these two temps. The newest flash helps with this as it will now set a SES light and DTC if this excessive variance should occur.

Wow!!The oil and coolant almost running the same temp, thats wild.I would think if the oil was running as hot as the coolant that the oil cooler would be plugged because not enough oil being pushed across the cooler. But you guys are saying that the cooler being plugged will cause cold oil??You would think if the cooler is plugged then the oil would run really hot because of lack of oil being run threw cooler to cool it down.I wonder if its the egr system that causes high oil temps.I wonder if the 7.3 would show the same or if it would work the opposite way.Cooler oil by 50f or so unless you're really workin the motor in summer.Maybe the SCT live link system isn't accurate, thats were iam getting data from. Thanks for all the help FTE rules ..

Hi everyone,

can someone advise me where to add coolant on 2011 F-250 6.7 with 11k miles? My display read Check Engine Coolant, and i assuming it low. Should i fill in where the radiator cap or the bottle that mark cold / hot lines? Can i just use any type of 50/50 coolant (example: Prestone 50/50)? I definitely will check the level before fill in any additional coolant. Thanks in advance
