Looking only for the EGR Block off plate. My Rig has the delete, but not the Egr block off plate. I've searched only for the block off plate, but only find the block off plates for the cooler. Trying to find the plate so that I can install the headstuds in while I'm playing with the engine. Thanks guys

 

Why would you want to block off the valve? If the cooler is gone it doesnt matter that its still there.

 

I have a stupid check light on and need a plate to make the sensor think everything is OK. I believe

 

You need a custom tune to shut the egr parameters off in the puter.

 

If your cooler is blocked off...and the exhaust is all going to the hair dryer (tubo) why not plug the EGR valve back in and make the PCM happy? It isn't exactly smart enough to know there no exhaust passing through the EGR valve if the cooler is blocked off. And it wouldn't be causing any harm....as I understand it. Though a tuner will restrict the amount of time the valve is open.

 

The puter will still throw a cel if it is blocked off but the valve is plugged in code 0401.It is only the early motors that do not throw a cel for low flow for the EGR.The low flow also limits fueling/boost in the upper rpms.The only way to properly delete the egr on these trucks is blocking the exhaust/intake and tuning otherwise it only half of the job.

 

That's right, I remember reading that...what was I thinking?Got to love those '05-'07 motors.

 

Right now, I have the egr unplugged and I'm running a SCT X3 for the custom tunes. I'll plug it back in to see what happens. Whoever did the delete only did it half without the plate and I've looked for to block plate to rid that awful check engine light. Will that light ever go out!?!?!?!?!?LOL

It's Jody's tunes and the code is for the EGR

 

Were the tunes written before the egr delete,you shouldn't have a cel with a custom tune with the egr off.He should be able to fix that for you very easily.

Are you sure it is an EGR related code?If his tune has the EGR shut down there should be no way you get any related codes,very strange ig it is a egr code and he has it removed in the programing.

When I got my tune from eric he told me to let him know if I still had and EGR code as some of them were tricky or different? to disable.

And to the OP, your EGR valve being in place HAS ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING to do with your problem.
