Hydraulic clutch questions 84 E150 4.9 4-speed
84 E-150 4.9 4-speed This is a hydraulic clutch.......
Problem: The clutch has been slowly (over several years) engaging/ disengaging closer and closer to the floor.
Observations: There is a minor weeping of fluid around the master cylinder, none leaking at the slave. I have only had to add fluid about once a year.
Clutch pedal feels normal.... about 1/2" easy movement then full constant clutch pressure all the way to the floor. Clutch release lever will move 1/2" during the full pedal stroke (this is at the minimum spec. given in my book).
My first reaction was to try and bleed the system... but there is no bleed screw. It looks like there might be a plug on the slave where the bleeder should be. It could be an allen screw. Does this come out and can it be replaced with a bleeder screw?
Just trying to gather up a little more info before I take a look at it this afternoon. Any BTDT suggestions would be appreciated.

I never had to fool with the hydraulic part of the one in my '85. BUT, my van (and yours too) had flex issues where the master is mounted. That soaks up travel in the system, and can lead to misalignment and binding as well as difficult shifting. As part of your inspection, check for that.
There was a reinforcement made for F series trucks, but not vans afaik. I made one for my van--you may have to do the same if you have flex issues.
Also, check the line for bulges when under pressure.
