might buy a porsche

Today while getting tires put on moms car I found a car I might buy. It is a porsche 944. It is complete but the interior is trashed. The owner wants $300 for it. I am planning on buying and building a tube chassis drag car out of it. I told mom I was planning on buying a porsche and cutting it up for a drag car and she thought I was crazy until I told her the price

Not a loss to the Porsche community either-
Now, if you said you found a 911 or a 959 and were going to do that............

I like the 944, it's a little bit fancier than a 924. Had a friend in college that shoe horned a 350 into one.

Too bad it isn't a 944 Turbo for $300! My mildly modified '87 is still decently fast today for a street car.

I was looking at buying one recently too. The 87 automatic 4 cyl. seem to sell for $3000-$4000 on autotrader with good bodies and trashed/bad interiors. I tried checking the price at NADA and it was totally unrealistic ($10-12k) compared to the market. $300 and runs, I don't see how you can lose. Body panels are worth that at least.

If you can find someone to buy them- I've been trying to part out a Mercedes for the last month, and all I can sell is stupid little nickle and dime stuff. Plugs off the wiring harness and the like, nobody wants any crash parts right now.

Myself - I know in my heart that I always have to have a truck. Yes - there is a part of me that thinks:

"Das PORCHE! Ausgetzeitnet..."

But to have both worlds means getting my paws on a Pinzgauer, and there just ain't no parts laying around in boneyard for those here

location location location = EBAY!

I sold almost a whole B2 on E-bay. The weirdest stuff too, like the jack and ABS covers. If someone could hear the engine run and then you pulled it for them,, I bet that would sell for $300 alone.

Although I believe trucks are made for men, and cars are made for woman (With very few exceptions)
Porsche makes good cars.
