Lift kit Question For my 1982 F-250 2wd
I got my ole F-250 that my grandad and my dad had for years. It sits pretty high off the ground. it looks kinda lifted but i want it higher. I know not many people lift 2wds But this ole truck would look really good with it. Im not new to lifts i also have a 1989 F-350 with 9 inches of lift. But I just need some help on which lift to buy for the 250 since its a 2wd. If you have any incite let me know thanks.

Why you would need to lift a 2wd is beyond me. You're not gonna be doing any offroading with a 4x2, which is the only reason you actually would need a lift. Sure, driving to the mall with a jacked up truck will look "cool", but it will also be totally pointless, as well as giving you horrible fuel mileage and forcing you to use expensive tires.

And in the opposite view, lowering the truck like your picture shows also has its cons, speed are going to be no fun, can't curb hop, and you're forced to do twice the work to make your truck look "cool"
Trucks are meant to go up, not against the ground.
Now, as for the lift, why do you need a larger lift for it?
What engine do you have? What is your spending limit, how much can you do yourself. Are you planning to upgrade the brakes for the additional weight and what not.
Have you planned anything out on your own?

Let's all be friends here. The guy wants to lift his truck, it's a free country, he can do what he wants. I've been around the 'ole lifted 2wd truck arguement a time or two before, and trust me, arguing with the guy gets you nowhere.
So hows about we just give positive input here, not putting each other down for what they want to do with their truck.

i have read that a 2wd truck with a locker in the rear can keep up to stock 4x4.
i think the lift will be the same as a 4wd truck.it will have a drop bracket to drop the ttb , and what ever you do to the rear, whather it be blocks(not recommended) or rearched springs.ther is nothing wrong with a prerunner truck,i've always like them.
imo i like lifted 4x4's but i also like lowered trucks.that one in newrider3 avatar is sweet.if i ever come up with the cash i would love to do what brewtl did to his.i want my 81 to look like this.lol

He could paint his truck pink and slap altezza lights on it for all I care, but in the end it's the mentality that's lame. He wants to do something to look cool without thinking about the effects it will have on his truck. He wants a 2wd, inline six to pull around 35 to 40's. What gearing does his rear axle have? Does he have money to blow when something goes wrong (which it will on any lifted truck)? I'm sorry, but if you come to a forum and ask people's opinion be prepared to have someone disagree with you or point out things you may not like.
