How to remove wiper arms on 1989 f150

I am aware that you pull that little metal tab out, but even with that done and me pulling on the arm it won't come out. I am going to replace my noisy wiper motor and I need to take the cowl panel off. How do I get the wiper arms off? The truck is a 1989 ford f150.

Thanks

pull the arm away from the wind shield and look down where it attaches to the motor rotating thing and u will see a little clip pull it out.. ok then u can let the wiper go and it wont touch the windsheild

then pull it off the little stud

If you pull the wiper arm up off the window as far as it will go, pull the little tab out and let the wiper arm spring back against the tab so it stays, then you'll be able to lift the whole arm off the drive spline with a little wiggling.

Thanks for the tips and reassurance, that was what I was doing and it still didn't come off, I just didn't want to break it, I guess I'll try again.

Thanks

Finally got them off today, they were real tight on there, now to find the windshield washer nozzle that I lost when I took the cowl cover off...

Just ordered a washer spray nozzle from LMC Truck, hopefully it's the right one. Where do you all usually get your parts like that from?

Thanks
