Stock rancho's are rancho's in name only and not NEAR the quality of aftermarket ranchos...

YRMV, I have had 3 Ex's and my stock shocks were questionable real quick....

on the 03 I went with the Rancho 9000 adjustables ! LOVED them !

on the 05 I thought I'd try the RSX's and while good - wish I had gone for the 9000's again (and may still )

Merry Christmas !

When I am driving (70 mph) on a concrete interstate highway, I only hear quick "pops" when I travel over the joints and I don't really feel anything. My tires are at least 76 psi. If I begin to travel more than 70 mph unloaded the truck begins to "float", not like a Cadi, more of a stiff & steady float. Everything feels normal. What do you guys think????????

I keep 80 psi in my tires and when the shocks get weak the front tires will show wear from cavitation [bouncing].

If they are the oem ranchos, get rid of them. They're rancho's in name only. If you take one off the truck, chances are it will push down and spring right back. No damping left at all. I don't think you will find many people on here that have much good to say about the stock shocks on our SD's.

Try pushing down on the corners of your rig individually, if it comes right back and stops your shocks are most likely still good if it continues to bounce a little they are shot. The harder you can bounce it the better to get a good idea. Easier for a large person than a small one with these stiff springs.

If they are yellow they may be bilstiens, not a cheap shock they are the best you can get.

I lived the bad experience with the RANCHO crap. Billstein is a sponsor here. They are the best. Click on their link above and get all the info. They give a 5% discount if you say you saw them on FTE. AND, they ship freight free.

If you are hearing a pop sound it is most likely your sway bar end link bushings. The factory ones are crap. Replace them with energy suspensions bushings. I think everyone with a superduty should do this. Also I went with bilsteins. They are a big improvement over stock. Here is the bushing link.
