truck temp gauge won't get into the normal

So my 93 f250 runs well but it won't get into the normal on the temp gauge. It moves a tiny bit but won't get into the normal. Should I worry? is this bad? I do have heat so it makes no sense to me. thanks

Is the heat from the heater hot?? Or just warm?? If the heater is HOT-but the temperature gauge is low-I would suspect that sender on the V8 intake manifold is bad. Remove the wire to the temp gauge sender and ground it momentarily -the gauge should max to the hot side of the guage. If that occurs-the sender is bad.

If both the heater and the gauge are low in temperature-I would suspect that the thermostat isnt closing-and if so-you should replace it. Bad MPG and more wear on the engine.
