I have been thinking about selling my 2008 F350 6.4 but spoke to my CPA and found that I would have to pay income tax on any profit from what I have already written off my current truck and the sale price. Are there dealers willing to do a straight up trade, truck for truck so that I could get a v-10 superduty or possibly a new F150? I don't have the need for a diesel anymore and would like to either downsize to an F150 or trade for a V-10 Superduty. My current truck is a Lariat, 2008, F350, 4x4,CC, with every option except rear camera, tailgate step, and sunroof. MSRP was $52,200
I agree, avoid the dealers. Try to find an individual to deal with, Dealers won't play fair !!!

As long as your talking taxes there are differences in depriciation between a 3/4 ton and larger vs the half tons. May be worth a conversation to make sure that will not effect your situation as well if you are going to a smaller truck and looking at new.
I would like to get around $36,000 for my 2008 F350 Lariat, CC, LWB, 4x4, PSD but it may be difficult with the economy the way it is and the difficulty in getting loans for used vehicles. The truck looks, smells, and runs like new I just don't need it anymore.
I don't think you will find anyone who will trade a new truck for a used truck, would you?

Pardon my ignorance, but there are 4 more listed in your sig, maybe they're not all yours? Maybe you could donate it to me, like when people donate their vehicles to the Salvation Army or Red Cross, whoever they are. I'd write you a nice receipt and a fancy "thank you " letter also. What do ya say?
