240/300 heads

Need to try to find out how to get near 10:1 compression on a 300 block. Anyone know the cc ratings on the 240 and 300 carbed heads? Can the head be shaved ALOT? Plan on zero decking but would rather not have "pop-up" pistons.

You need to have the casting #'s on the head, and check it online. There are sites that have formulas posted to calculate the compression. It just takes research to find them.

I know that Clifford Performance shaves .060 off their performance heads, and recommends zero decking the block as well. Any reputable performance shop should be able to help.

Say goodbye to regular gas.

Only planning on 10:1. But the time the chamber's cleaned up, it'll be 9.5:1 or so.
