I don't look at the Memphis Craigslist much. Right now I'm trying to find my daughter a car. It has too much junk to filter through.

Yeah I've also noticed here in WA we seem to get some great craigslist deals.

Now if I could just find that exact same deal but for a perfect 57-'60 cab/doors

 

I grew up very near you Bob and, being a shiftless country boy on a non-working farm, my brothers and I wandered far and wide around the Wisconsin countryside without too much supervision. Even then (late 1960s), we never came across anything except abandoned farm equipment heavily painted with RustedIronOleum - the water-based stuff (rain, etc.), not the stuff in a spray can.

The only exception was a barn we wandered into about two and a half miles from home. The three of us were speechless to find an almost fully restored 1936 Rolls-Royce Phantom III with a 447 CID (7.32 L) V-12 engine in a covered bay. Next to it was a fully restored (I mean PERFECT) 1932 Cadillac V-16 with a 452 CID (7.4 L) V-16 (duh!) engine.

We went home and found out that one of the doctors in the area was an avid collector and restorer and he stored some of his collection in various places until he had a proper building put up to house them. It was definitely a more innocent time as anybody with a 4x4 could have pulled those two cars out of the barn and made off with them. On the other hand, in rural Wisconsin you'd have a hard time explaining how you happen to have two extremely rare cars that match exactly what had been stolen from the barn.
