Clutch and trans questions

Hello everyone. its been awhile since i last posted. I have a few questions concerning my 87 f150. it needs a new clutch and trans. Im lookin at either an auto value clutch ($108) or a napa clutch ($113) and wondering which was will last me the longest. or if its smartest just to go to the stealership and get one from ford.
The second question is about the trans. I know that they put two differant brands of four speeds in these truck, one of which is a borge warner and the other i cant remember. Im just wondering which one is the toughest and will last the longest.

Any help is appreciated.

I would get one online from carolina clutch or some place that sells Luk clutches. Don't buy a cheap replacement, you will regret it. Everyone always does.

The other option is an NP 435. Ford stopped using them in 1986, so your 1987 has a BW T-18.

Well now im wondering if i even need a clutch. It seems that it working alot better now that the temp came up about 20*. It still doesnt work like it should, for example if i dont hold the brake itll take off on me when the clutch is in. It also makes a scraping/scratching sound while i hold the clutch down no matter if its in gear ir not. Im really getting confused by this one. Is there any way to adjust the clutch? maybe i need a new master or slave cylinder? Maybe if i just changed the fluid, would that help? Oh and it shakes like a dog s***in cats when i try take off in second.

The first sounds like the throw out bearing.
Is it quiet when you aren't pressing on the pedal?
Does it make noise as soon as the throw out bearing touches the clutch?

The second sounds like the pilot bearing maybe?
At least that's how my '75 acts when the bronze oil-lite bearing gets beat
up and wallered out. I switched to a 6303 sealed ball bearing. :)

What engine you got?
What type of pilot bearing does it use?

My '75 has a 360FE and T18.

When the pedal is up, its quiet and normal. pedal down and it makes noise. Its got a 4.9 inline with a t-18 4 speed behind it. As far as the pilot bearing goes im clueless. never worked on the clutch on this one before.

Yet another symptom: The clutch pedal never actually comes all the way back to the top unless i lift it with my foot. It only comes up about 3/4 of the way.
