How much is too much?

skyjacker sells a 8'' lift for it. the ttb however talked down on all the time is still a excellent design. with a 6'' lift and 35's, you will be pushing the ttb towards its limits. i personally am gunna do a 4'' lift with 33's. my truck sees mostly pavement, but does go offroad often. you can fit 35's under a 4'' lift, but the tires will be stuffed in and look strange. if you go that route you will also have to do a bumper trim to prevent rubbing. just stay with what the lift manufacturer says for a 4'' lift which is 33's. dont forget to do gears front and rear! the only thing i see you wearing out faster tho would be some u joints. the balljoints on these trucks go out, but ill put it this way.. i have my truck on 31's with the original ball joints, and they are still tight like new. if you are going with the 4'' lift i would also reccommend the extended rad. arms.

33's should cause no problems at all. A guy around here stuffed 35's with only fender trimming, it was interesting looking, but I bet they rubbed stuff on every bump.
My advice with a TTB is to lift it as little as you need. I got 37's on 6" suspension lift. I say this because of alignment issues and especially camber issues especially after your springs start to sag...
I beat it good though. No breakage. Theres a a few guys around here running bigger tires on the TTB and they bash harder than I with no issues.

yes you can put 35s under a 4" lift thats what i have! superlift makes one and to be honest you don't have to do no bumper trimming...they do rub but on the radius arms and the sway bar...the bumper should be clear...and go with a 4:56 rear end with 35's because it's nice to be able to turn the tires and pull a trailer or a load of wood or something

really?? i have 4.56 gears with 33s and wish i went with 4.88s i would definately go with 4.88s with 35s
i say this because when i am at 60 my rpms are way out of the powerband like 2200 or something stupid low-i have an aod though
but at the same time the higher numerically you go with your gear ratio the smaller your pinion gear is and the easier it is to knock the teeth off of it esp. with small running gear like my d44ttb and 8.8in rear

at stock i ran 33s on the ttb was no problem at all after didnt even have unusually fast camber disalignment. 37 inch tires now those it starts to lose camber faster than it should, but its still going strong for me (not a heavy off-roader).
In my opinion 4 inch and maybe 6 inch is where the ttb is ok if your sticking to the street mostly and keeps a better ride (mine works hard on the street) but off-road where there is a lot of side pressure/ twisting/ torque in weird places the bigger tires will come unaligned a lot.
Anything over 6 inches just do the solid axle swap (you probably have to anyways for lack of a drop axle that long because it would be like running big axles blocks at that point). I have only heard of 1 or 2 people actually breaking anything on their ttb its not like its a weak system its just very susceptible to camber issues.
skyjackers lift kit for the 4 and 6 inch kit uses the same front axle drop brackets it just has a upper hole for the 4 inch lift and lower ones for the 6 inch
