air bag light came on
My wife was driving her 01 excursion 7.3 home tonight and said the air bag light started to blink then came on solid. She parked it for a couple of hours and drove it again and the light was out. She also said that she thought she had smelled electrical a couple of times prior to today. We also had the cruise control recall done last week. Anyone else have this happen and why? Thanks.

You'll probably have to get the airbag error code in order to find out what is wrong.
From Wikipedia:
A flashing airbag light can mean one of two things. The first possibility is that your battery is in death throes. Have it tested at your local auto parts store. The second possibility is that there is an actual problem with the airbag system. Below is a list of airbag codes, which will flash on the warning light. For example, the light will flash once, pause and then flash twice == 12.
12=Low Battery Voltage
13=Air Bag Circuit Shorted to Ground
14=Primary Crash Sensor Circuit Shorted to Ground
21=Safing Sensor Not Mounted to Vehicle Properly
22=Safing Sensor Output Shorted to Battery Voltage
23=Safing Sensor Circuit Input Feed/Return Circuit Open
24=Safing Sensor Output Feed/Return Circuit Open
32=Driver Side Air Bag Circuit High Resistance or Open
33=Passenger Side Air Bag Circuit High Resistance or Open
34=Driver Side Air Bag Circuit Low Resistance or Shorted
35=Passenger Side Air Bag Circuit Low Resistance or Shorted
41=RH Primary Crash Sensor Feed/Return Circuit Open
42=LH Primary Crash Sensor Feed/Return Circuit Open
44=RH Primary Crash Sensor Not Mounted to Vehicle Properly
45=LH Primary Crash Sensor Not Mounted to Vehicle Properly
51=Air Bag Diagnostic Monitor Internal Thermal FuseFuse Blown Due to Intermittent Short to Ground
52=Backup Power SupplyVoltage Boost Fault
53=Primary Crash Sensor Circuits Resistance to Ground or Air Bag Diagnostic Fault

No you don't. Redford posted the LFC (lamp fault codes). When the light is flashing, it is telling you the code. If it flashes 2 times, then flashes 4 times before staying on solid, it is telling you LFC 24. Post back with the LFC you have and we'll go from there on how to fix it.
