have you checked all of your grounds by chance? perhaps there is a loose one or one not connected properly causing this?

Gone over my grounds, been while since it has happened but it did it yesterday which was right after I filled the tank and got my mystical leak again. A guy on here mentioned that if you fill your tank too high it can leak out the vent in the top of the tank. I think its a "one way check valve/ vent" so it shouldnt come out of there. I replaced it when I did my pump because I cracked my origional when I pulled it out.

Can anyone answer me this... I know if you get air in a diesels fuel line it can cause problems... Ive never come across a gas engine getting air in the lines and wouldnt it just pump it out?

It simply says to "check voltage at the high pressure fuel pump terminals. Voltage should be within .5v of battery voltage. Continuity to ground should be less than 1 ohm, if not check wiring.
But like I said when I tried this the numbers changed on the voltmeter so fast and I never saw a glimpse of 12.5v or anything close to that. But plugged in my pump runs for a good solid 2 seconds. so I know for at least 2 seconds I should be getting a reading.
"Within 0.5VDC" can mean either direction but in this case without a capacitor or step-up transformer you won't get any reading above the actual battery voltage.

If the voltage fluctuated that drastically you have a definitely have some kind of problem. Voltage input should be constant to the pump. Did you perform the resistance test on the ground wire as suggested? If so, what was the resistance reading you got? You will have to disconnect it from the pump and check the wire alone or the meter will read the coil in the pump and you will get an incorrect reading.

Well its been a while. I replaced every vacuum hose with new silicone ones and it has not had a "random" starting issue since. All my vac hoses were junk and im suspecting maybe the fuel pressure regulator line was cracked. Best 30 bucks ive spent in a while, Thanks for all the help
