broken transmission mount?
Greetings. On my 67 Ford F100 I put it in 1st (Granny low) and let the clutch out...the shifter and tranny move with the torque of the engine..and when you dump the clutch in 1st the engine hits the hood with a thump..Is the transmission mount to blame for this? also. when i got the truck the clutch had about 2 inches of throw and was all the way adjusted (no more adjustment left)so, I fabbed up an extension to achieve full use of the clutch..What I did was I extended it 2 inches. Will this hurt the clutch in anyway? I cut a 2 inch piece of steel and put 2 holes in it. Put the 0-bolt through one end and put the other end on the clutch linkage from the cab..This shouldnt harm the clutch should it?
sorry for the long post, I need info hehe

With the exception of the engine hitting the body, your story is about the same as mine. When you replace the engine mounts you probably will find that the trans rubber mount is also only working by gravity. And I don't think anything will hurt that clutch; plan for a replacement in the near time.
