VIN Decoder
I was wondering if anyone knows of a website were i can decode a 69 ford truck, and if someone can decode this vin F15GEEG2480 Color 7u, type GVW F151, Body KT4, Trans K and axle H4x. I used the coder in the Tech Articles but it doesn't let you put in for color, body.... And i have one other question, i am wondering if there is anywhere else on the truck that i can find the color code, body, trans, and axel codes because the tag on my door is missing. thanks for any help.

[FONT COLOR="#0000ff" SIZE="+1" FACE="Veranda"]The VIN # you give looks problematic. For a 1969 F-100, the first three digits should either "F10" for 2wd's or "F11" for 4wd's. Digit number 6 should be a "G" for a 1969 and then the last 5 digits should all be numbers.

[FONT COLOR="#0000ff" SIZE="+1" FACE="Veranda"]My bad on two counts. First: I didn't realize you were referring to two different trucks. Second: the sixth digit in a 1969 VIN could be D, E, F or G! Go to the VIN decoder off the FTE main site for the 1979. Here is what I am able to discern for you on the 1969:

Series: F25 - 4x2 Pickup
Engine: V-8 360 cid. 2v
Model: F253=2wd (exc. State of PA) 6100 GVW
Assembly Plant: Ontario Truck
Color: "H" (should = Medium Copper Orange)
