Mines in my Avatar, for some reason i cant post any pics. Mine is an 03, 6.0 Fabtech 8in lift with 37/12.50/16 Super swamper Truxxus mud terrains on the front and Parnelli Jones Dirt Grips on the rear.

Nope. A significantly lifted dually goes from being badass to looking silly. Well that's my opinion anyway. A slight lift, as in a 1" to 2" leveling kit, sure, but lifted like those trucks? Especially with that ridiculous pair of mud tires in the back? No, you lose the muscular bulldog look and gain the overprivileged frat boy patina.

 

FireKite, guess you must be the only one who doesnt, cause all I get is compliments with mine, and it pulls and works just like it should effortlessly.

 

I guess I missed the part where bigfordmatt asked for an opinion on a lifted dually, hmph...

Anyways, the lift referenced is the overall lift height. So in the last shot, they had to drop in a 10.5" lift (on a stock truck) to get 39.5" tires under it.

 

hate to bring up old posts, but im thinking about makin my truck a dually. im lookin at 46x15x20's though. cant seem to find a 20x10 other than one set of rockstar's. id rather have something polished, or at least with more then just a lame chrome star in the middle. how did you clear that wide of tires in the rear? spacers between the wheels id assume.

 

Well once you ditch the 10.25" in the back and hunt down a Dana with a tube long enough to handle the wheel backspacking without rubbing on the springs and get it put in, then yes, you can run spacers between the wheels so the tires don't rub on each other.

If you could find a D110 geared the same as your front that'd be a start in the right direction. Your 42s look kinda stuffed in the rear, so what plans do you have for clearing one 46 on a side before you try to shoehorn a second one on there? Trimming the fender behind the dually flare would probably open a lot of room, but maybe not enough for the outer tire to clear the new flare.

 

ya, im looking into getting a rear end possibly from f450 since its already disk. then do a 10 lug conversion on the front. right now, i only have 4" blocks in the rear. i will be ditching the whole thing for a 4link and airbags. same on the front, ditch the crap springs and go 4 link. as of now i have a 1.5" body lift. if need be i could get a 3" but i would rather just do all suspension. i hate body lifts.

 

im just having a hard time finding dually 20x10's. just seem to be rockstar wheels. i really hate rockstar wheels.

 

16 inch rims? Seems small for a dually

 

most pre-04 are 16" wheels. they had to get larger in 04 because the brakes are larger.
