Tie rod ball socket Q

Hi, In the middle of replacing my ball joints in my 96 ford f250. While taking the tierod end off the passenger side steering knuckle, the stud spins in the ballsocket now. I did get it apart, but i'm wondering if i damaged it. And if it is, can i just get a new ball socket for it, or do i have to get the whole tierod?
thanks

If the ball just spins its fine, im pretty sure. Ive had even new ones do it. You just need to hold it with vice grips enough to get the nut on and draw it up and itll stop spinning.

If you feel better getting a new one. go ahead. But, I have used them after they spun and theres no problems. As long as the boot isnt torn. Its a ball and socket.. Just because it spins doesnt mean its broke.
