79 F150 4WD GAS TANK REMOVAL

I believe there was a post about tank removal some time back but I cant find it now, so I guess I will ask again, sorry. I need to pull the p/u box off my 79 f150 to paint the area between the cab and box. The p/u box has a bolt /nut above the gas tank on the (dual tanks on this truck) mid chassis tank I need to drop the tank to access this bolt/nut. The tank has a protective metal shroud around it, held by eight bolts up thru the frame. The question is, do these bolts hold the shroud and tank or just the shroud? I dont want a gas tank lunch when I take the bolts out, thanks for your replies,

On my 77 F150 4x4 the heat shroud bolts were seperate from the support straps bolts. I cant remember how many bolts were in the shroud but the supports had seperate ones. Hope this helps.

The shroud around the tank is what holds the tank in the truck.

Just got done dropping the tank. I put some concrete blocks under it and dropped it by myself. It was just as you stated, the metal shroud held the plastic tank in place. Could not see that until the shroud was unbolted and dropped. Thanks a bunch for the info Ford 79! You were a chin saver,
