Nothing wrong with using Ox Gard to maintain our trucks electrical connections.

 

It is electrical conductive grease.

Use it on the finer electrical contacts (eg most electronic plugs) and it will cause a short.

I guess if you squirted some into a connector like toothpaste it could cause a problem. If someone applies it in that fashion they have no business taking any of the connectors apart in the first place.

Applied correctly, it can reduce resistance through the connection and protect against corrosion.

 

Flatly disagree with what you are saying.

You cannot stop this stuff from migrating from one pin contact to another.

Ford recommends only dielectric grease (cheezit has the PN in a previous post) to be used.

This stuff should be kept far away from cars.

It is for household / 120V AC wiring and circuits.

I went to the trouble of talking to the manufacturer of the product to confirm the facts when another poster (theonlyphoenix) posted the same information.

 

Just a Warning, this will be the first locked thread in history for the Tech Folder if we get into another argument about dielectric grease. Everyone has an opinion, choose your debate wisely.

still using ox-gard, sparingly no need to use any more, after 6 years without any problems, electrical resistance is still immeasurable with my DVM at >100 Mohm. Anyone that is using heat sink thermal compound, esp the conductive type, is into voodoo electrical engineering. The diamond filled stuff still really intrigues me though. LOL each to his own. After 11 years the F350 with 179,000K still running great and now started same practice on my 2015 Cruze diesel @ 28,000K running great Would not recommend grossly gooping up any connector with any type material though.

Excuse me... just got bore with this whole thing in the past, moved on to more interesting and intriguing things with the Cruze but still racking up miles on the F350 at slower pace now.
