4x4 wont work!!

Well its that time of year and I was making sure the truck is in working order and I found out my 4x4 wont work. I have a 99 f250 and I still have the factory hubs. When I have the 4x4 engaged I can feel my transfer case engage I know my front drive shaft is spinning but the front wheel's dont engage. I am already looking at a new set of warn hubs but I would like more advice.Thanks.

Vacuum leak? Turn on the a/c and if it defaults to defrost you have a leak. Most common place are the lines that go to the knuckle, cheap fix.

SO are you able to turn your hubs to lock them in?

Replace them with some 1/4'' hose and then see if they will lock in.Very easy to do.The factory hoses were very cheazy anyway.

IF you dont mind, put the selector switch to 2x4, lock the hubs, with the truck in park, see if you can turn the front driveshaft by hand.

Well when I engage 4x4 my back tires jus spin. There is not even an attempt for the front to spin. It is the same in 4 low as well.

Un lock the hubs, engage the 4x4, have someone move the truck whle you are to the side and watch the drive shaft, although I wonder if you could just put in 4x4, crawl under and try to turn the drive shaft.

Its your hubs, i just went through this yesterday. To make sure jack up one wheel, lock that hub, spin the tire, and check if the axle is turning with it. If you want to open them up and try to fix them guzzle has a good write up. If your hubs are unrepairable, i picked up a set of warns at napa for $117.
