What truck do you have; what engine? From the vehicle list you have, i'm wondering if you shouldn't be posting your request under a different heading. Rangers usually have either 3 or 4 digit trouble codes.

Welcome to the Ranger & B-Series forum.
This is about all I could find on the code 46.
It seems to have to do with high or low resistance in the drivers side seat belt tensioner sensor, or the system having recently been disconnected with the vehicle power on. If the latter was the case & the computer doesn't detect another problem after something like 256 start cycles, the SRS computer will finally clear the code & turn the light off.

OR, you could disable your fuel pump, so it wont cycle on, & turn your ignition key from off, to run, without cranking the engine, enough times (256) & it'll clear the code & turn the light off.

OR a Dealer, or shop with a scantool that'll access the SRS system can do it.

Let us know what you find.

Check the connector under the seat. unplug it, check for corrosion or a loose fit, plug it back in. Should fix you problem. I had this issue with the psger, side.

Ok. so i got to looking at the drivers seat today. I found why i have the SRS code. The PO ripped the connector right off the harness. Both sides are missing(seat and truck) I am Just going to but connector the wires to their respective match. Does anyone have a pic or diagram of where they go? I would like to get the truck inspected, and its a no go with the SRS on

If your '04 is the same as an '02, then here's what you're looking at:

Pretensioner Connector
Pin 1 = (BK) Ground
Pin 2 = (LG/BK) Driver safety belt retractor pretensioner, return
Pin 3 = (BN/LB) Safety belt buckle switch (10B924), input
Pin 4 = (LG/RD) Driver safety belt retractor pretensioner, feed

Pin 1 eventually gets grounded to the vehicle floor.

Pins 2 & 4 run to the Restraints Control Module (pins 22 and 18, respectably).

Pin 3 runs to the GEM (pin 5)

You've obviously found your problem, but do keep this in mind.

When you open the suicide doors, make sure they close properly, because the belt tensioner is in the suicide door.

And no connector

The truck side...

I searched in my 2004 shop manual, and let me tell you, they don't make it easy to find anything. There's lots of chapter headings that are just numbers and the only way to find anything is to open every page. I found the connectors for the belt sensors, so I hope this is what you need. Let me know if I can help more. I think I'm slowly learning how to navigate this mess.
