Can you find the PSI output for the Mercury pump on the internet? It may wrok. The Volare box PS does not require as much pressure as many others. I am running a Ford PS pump on my Volare box, but it is from a true PS sustem, not a power assist clnder. Mine is definitely a little fast and soft, but has worked fine for 5 years? The Volare pump you have will work perfectly of course.

It will take a little fabrication but I'd use the Volare PS pump if possible. It will work best with the box you have. I have successfully fabricated brackets for both a 350 Chevy and a 302 Ford to run a Volare box. I'm sure getting one to work with your Y-block can also be done with a little work...
