hissing

Hi
this part is hissing after shut off. what is this part? ( why is wet?) is it normal ??
1995 4.9 4x 4 XLT

That is your AC <strike>condenser</strike> accumulator. It collects moisture.

The condenser is the radiator shaped thing in front of the engine radiator. That's actually your accumulator/drier assembly but it does take moisture out of the refrigerant system and locks it in a dessicant (sp?) material. The whistling that you hear is the pressure equalizing in your refrigerant system through the orfice tube when the trucks AC is off. Yes the condensation is normal also.

you guys just reminded me that while i am not using my ac in my truck i may as well replace the accumulator (when i swapped the motor and tranny i converted the ac to r134 and the system was open way too long)
