What colors do I paint an engine for a 1965 F100 352?

Now thats the definition of an optimist. A 65 F250, FE 352+4v, hauling a camper and looking for fuel economy.

You are 100% correct on the engine paint scheme.
However, if this was a 1966, the entire engine would be painted Ford Corporate Blue...including the valve covers.
1952/65 OHV I-6's and V8's: Ford painted the blocks one color, the valve covers another color.
The valve covers were painted specific colors, because...this is how Ford mechanics, outside repair shops, garages, body shops and etc. ID'd what sizes the engines were...I kid you not.
Every year, FoMoCo sent out to the dealers...charts showing the myriad valve cover paint colors, which showed what size engine each color represented.
The dealers then passed them out to all their wholesale accounts.
The problem was...the same engine in a car may/may not be painted the same as in a truck. Again, I kid you not.
Examples: 1965 F100/350 352: Black engine, Gold Valve Covers / 1965 Galaxie/LTD 352: Black engine, Blue Valve Covers.
1965 289 2V installed in Galaxies, Falcon's, Fairlanes, Mustangs: Black engine, Gold Valve Covers! (sigh)

Im new to the old truck world, and i know this thread has been dead for quite sometime, but my 65 f100 has a 352v8 with blue valve covers. Does that mean that at some point it was switched with a galaxie's 352? Or someone at some point may have just painted them like that? If you know of anyway I could figure out where the engine came from it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Since I'm a bird man, the 390's in the Birds were also black block and heads and intake and gold valve covers and air-cleaner. In 66 the Bird engines were painted entirely Ford Blue and I think that was on all Ford engines. If I remember correctly Ford liked black and gold until they switched to all blue at least on the 390's.
I remember the early 63 Falcons with the 260 V8 were black and gold. Actually when I bought it it had a 289 from a 65 Mustang so I really don't know what color the 260 valve covers were but I suspect they were red.

My 352 in my 65 has a black block, heads and air cleaner. The valve covers are light blue. The person I bought it from told me the engine had been rebuilt.
I don't know if that is the original engine or a rebuilt he purchased from a re-builder. Maybe the light blue valve covers were what the re-builder used on all their engines.

Would you know the color code for the Ford Corporate Blue? Also was the paint color flat, semi gloss or shiny for a 66 engine.
Finally, what color was the oil pan painted on a 66 custom cab and like above was it flat, semi gloss or shiny?
Thanks for help,
Lax
