Oil gauge problem after engine bay wash?
Hopefully someone here can help. I washed the engine compartment in the '92 today and long story short, I got stuff wet I shouldn't have. It took about 4 hours to restart and I noticed the oil pressure gauge only goes 1/4 of the way up now. I know they are only supposed to go halfway up as it is, but the engine is out of an '88 and I'm not sure if it has a sending unit or a switch like the original. My question is, could I have just got the connection wet or could I have actually hurt the oil pressure by cranking it and flooding it too much? I know I didn't get any water in the oil or the intake, but I'm dumbfounded at this problem. Gauge worked perfectly fine beforehand.

Have you done the moving oil pressure gauge mod? If not, you just changed the resistance of the circuit and if the needle moves at all, that's all you need to know. Purely cosmetic. Check your sending unit, if it's big and fat like the one in my picture #2 then we'll try something different.
