finally test drove my overdrive

I took my truck out for the first time today with the spicer Aux. transmission. Let me just say WOW!!!!!!! What a diffrence it makes. 65mph on a smooth road is not even an issue!! The truck rides a little to rough to do that on a bad road but the rpms are so much more tollerable now at lower speeds. The gear noise is louder but I expected that due to the spur gears, but its not that bad. By far the best mod yet. Aside from new cab mounts. No vibrations the shifter is firm. I am really happy with the install I will try and get some pictures as soon as possible

Visited your gallery, nice to see another F6 saved from neglect. Looking forward to seeing some pics of your aux trans install. I plan to install a Watson - Brown/Lipe in a 48 F6.

yes its a .74 with a 2.00under and direct. I have not got the hang of shifting it without grinding gears however. Even double clutching its tough. I just leave it in OD and shift the main box, but i still want to get the hang of it. I wonder if mine is an early spicer as it has spicer and brown lipe on the id plate. I just sold a watson brown lipe with a flat top because it had a .85OD

I took a different approach on pictures. I started setting up albums vs. setting up the gallery. Working with the album seems to be easier to update, as well as to look through on others pages vs. galleries. I did a post not long ago on the subject (Albums vs Galleries) and feedback seemed mixed. Here's a link to it. I guess you can also get there by clicking on my profile page, then the stats tab.

Mine is in the process of being torn down. One thing lead to another and there it goes! I had hoped to get the cab off before weather hit - no luck. Been getting hit with 30+mph wind and gusts pushing to 60. Right now it's 14 out - w/o windchill. Soon as weather breaks I'll get the cab off and frame in the garage.
