I like the writeup at North Texas Power Stroke Association - DIY AIC Mod
Note that you could use a single relay with double contacts like this one from digikey: Digi-Key - PB490-ND (Manufacturer - T92S11D22-12)
If you use the single relay it simplifies the wiring a bit.
If you are ordering from digikey here is a potentiometer: Digi-Key - SP534-2.0K-ND (Manufacturer - 534-11202)
plus the **** Digi-Key - 226-4101-ND (Manufacturer - OEDL-63-4-5)
If you have a hand shaker I'd use the E-brake switch as suggested in the article. If you have an auto, I'd suggest wiring into the line between the start switch and the transmission safety switch. When the truck is in gear, the switch will be open and the relay can't be engaged. When the truck is in neutral or park, the transmission switch is closed and the little relay in the DIY idle control can ground through the starter switch. The small current the idle control relay draws won't budge the starter solenoid.

We used to have a mod around here known as the HIM or high idle mod. Its real simple and cheap. You start your truck and take your snow scraper and wedge it against the pedal. I personally have a snow scraper/ brush and I put one end against the pedal and the other under thedge of the enter seat/ console and adjst the pressure of pushing down on the seat back to increase the idle to where I want it. Works great, dirt cheap. usually set the idle around 1200 rpm and then if you modify your EBPV you can close it manually and it will work al little faster. Others did the mod by wedging a screwdriver behind the pedal to the same effect.
