F600 Wheels

Greg,
Assuming I would have the same issue with the stud shoulder if I try to convert to lug centered....What was involved with swapping out the studs? I would assume you had to do the front and the rear hubs? Are the studs pressed into the brake drum? And finally, where did you find the new studs?
Thanks,
Joe

Joe i'm posting a pic of the inside of the inner lug nut, if you notice, it is recessed before the threads start....That is how the lug nuts that I used on the fronts look from the back side.
I had no problems with the fronts bolting up properly, I had the thickness of the wheel and then the resessed area of the nut to deal with the small shoulder on the front. So no I did not replace my front studs.
I dunno if my rears just have incredibly long studs, as I don't have another hub pilot F6 to compare it to.
Its one of those things you will just have to dive into if you decide to try it.
The studs on my Truck have definately been changed at some point.
Yours might be different I dunno, Mabey they will bolt right up, mabey not, probably at minimum, shortening the rears.
I put my widowmakers back on the rear so I could use my truck, Come spring time when it warms up I will pull the back end apart and change studs.
So Yes, I will have pull the axles, then the nuts that hold the hubs/bearings to the spindles then deal with whatever else I find in there, replace hub seals while apart. Clean and inspect/replace wheel bearings, probably rebuild the wheel cylinders just because...etc. etc.
So yea, you gotta pull the hubs to knock the studs out, Six Roblees, or good Napa store can get you studs.
I need to look at my rear brakes and bearings for my own peace of mind anyway so its not that big of deal to me
Wish I had all the answers, but I'm just figuring it out as I go....
.
Kind of alot of screwing around, but I'm to poor to dump big coin on wheels.
If I had big bucks I would have bought a set of 22.5 hub pilot wheels and a new set of Radials.

I have spoken with Marty. I think he might have some wheels that will work. I am waiting to hear back on what shipping might cost and some pictures. Thanks for the suggestion to call him.

Wheel Update
So I was unable to find a set of hub piloted wheels after all my searching. So I now have a set of lug piloted from Marty. I am ready to begin the investigation on how to make them work on my truck. I think like Greg showed, the fronts should be no problem. However not sure what I will find with the rear studs. So need to get my wheels off the truck.
Any concerns about deflating my widowmakers? Any risk of them coming apart? Unfortunately the outer rear would put me in the danger zone while deflating....
Thanks
Joe

Hey guys, I've got a 68' b500 school bus with the stud piloted WM 20" wheels/7.50 tires with good/great tread. I'm looking to also change out to a 19.5 or 22.5 wheel; therefore will be getting rid of my WM wheels/tires if anyone is interested. I've found 3, 6 lug 22.5's; so need 3 or 4 more if anyone has them to get rid of. Thanks, Chris

I have mounted my wheels on my truck. I am using 10R 22.5 lug centered wheels. They are about 4"'s taller than my 8.25x20's. I did also find the issue with shoulders on my studs preventing tightening my lugs. I made up some spacers that fit around the 6 lugs and the center hub. A 3/8 spacer on rear and 1/4 spacer on fronts. Seems that all is well now. Truck is back on the road. It was a long journey. Started in October last year. But good to go now.
