I've used Fluid Film on my saltwater boat trailer for years. My boat is used in Baja where fresh water washdown is not availble. Keeps the springs and zinc coated hardware alive for much longer time.

The dust keeps oil from dripping off the underside of the vehicle. It actually works very well. That Fluid Film sounds pretty cool. I checked out their website.

Alright then, thanks guys, looks like this is a great thing to do then.

Too bad I live in canada, i would have loved a free can of fluid film, havent tried it yet. havent seen it though either at the store...

I think i'll try the used engine oil, i got loads of waste veg oil, but i'm sure that would make the truck smell like a skanky chinese restaraunt.

This is gonna be awesome...

PM sent, Parkland. We have a Canadian distributor who may be able to provide you with a sample.

Thanks for the sample Dano.

Question - Can you spray it on plastic? I just got back from a hunting trip and my ATV is covered with mud and red clay. After sitting on there for 4-5 days it drys and is tough to clean up.

I was thinking maybe spray it down before the trip and the mud & clay would be easier to get off. This stuff is stuck in every nook and cranny of the ATV. What do you think ?

I think the only danger would be any decals.

Every time I've ever gotten any oil product on decals, they seem to degrade quickly there after.

I think I'll try a "test" spot under a fender or somewhere to see what happens. Good point about the decals I didn't think about that.

It works real well for that application. I went four-wheeling with my cousin a couple of months ago and we prepped his truck beforehand. Whatever didn't wash off fell off the next day once the dirt dried. He said he had at least 100 pounds of dirt in his driveway.
