Elec Brake Controller (add) on 2010 F150

Greetings all....in need of some assistance please.

Just got a F150 Lariat (2010) that HAS the hitch package and the 7 pin connector in the rear. It DID NOT have the Electonic Break Controller in the dash so I baught and installed it....the harness was right behind the bin in the dash.

So...after installing 2 under-hood fuses and putting the key in RUN....nothing. No illumination of the EBC (I think it illuminates) and nothing displased on the trucks computer.

Is this correct? I would have thought it would have at least said "TBC Fault" after reading other threads. In 2010 is this the correct behaivor until the put the computer on it at the dealership and enable it?

Many thanks!

That and I hope you got the right one. These trucks have all the TBC functions read out in the cluster.

The one I got is part number: al3z-19h332-aa

Do you think its the right one? You mean that all the out put is displayed where the heat/AC and radio data is correct?

I am still a bit concerned as I expected something to pop up....it did not throw an error or light up at all....maybe the dealer really does have to turn it on.

Any other insight would be MOST apprecieated.

Take it to the dealer and ask them to turn it on... in the future, make such things a condition of the deal!

Follow-up. Ford tech plugged into the truck and in 2 minutes the Elec Brake Control was fully functional. SWEET!
