Gas tank capacity

Easy question, I have a 2003 F250 super cab 6' bed 4x4 (v10 if that matters). My gauge says empty, then it only takes 18-20 gallons to fill it up. Does my truck really only have 20gal tank?

Without going and looking, I believe it has a 29 gallon tank.

Mine has done the same thing for a couple of years now. If you figure this out let us know.
Thanks,

also keep in mind i beelvie the factory sets the gauge to read EMPTY well before u actualy are...

in tank fuel pumps dont like to be run if not submerged in fuel.. running the tank to empty is hard on the pump, as it can cuase it to overheat..

so my guess is ur truck gauge reading is normal...

if u really wanna test it, bring along a jerrycan of gas and drive it till it runs out...

for what its worth when i let my tank get lower then normal for refilling it still never seems to take more then 24Gallons... i dont think ive ever been able to get near 29Gallons in it..

My 99 seems hard to fill up, the pump shuts off early and I can usally get a few more gallons in it if I spend the time, but even when I think its completely full my gauge never reads full so I guess mine is the opposite of others.

Gauge issue for sure. I have a 1/4 reading when in the 20-24 gal fill up. when trucks first came out someone tested when light comes on 6 gal left. I've tested farther than that by always reseting the trip meter but always use that as my base. When gas pump auto shut off can always depending on pump add an easy 5 gal more by running it slow. I've run low whole bunch of times. Tanks are rated at a certain temp and weight. The worst or the best depending how you look at it i put in 32 gal filling right up to the neck by drizzling it in
