500cfm or 600cfm on my 302

I have a 71 302 with low miles on it. I am about to order an Edelbrock 2121 Perfomer intake, Edlebrock 2122 Cam and a 1404 500 cfm carb. I live in Denver which is over 5000 ft altitude. My question is, is the 500 cfm enough or should I go to a 600 with vac. secondaries?

Edelbrock says 500 is enough but Holley suggest 570. I see a lot of guys running 600s on their basic stock 302s. Would I be better off with a Holley instead of Edelbrock?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

One other issue is I may want to run E85 corn fuel. Just because I guess. Any carbs out there that are E85 capable? This is not a priority.

500cfm is plenty with the stock heads though there wouldn't be much difference with a 600 and it would give you some expansion room for better heads. Vacuum secondaries is the way to go regardelss what size you pick. Can't help you on the E85 but I bet it would require different jetting so it's not something you could switch back and forth from easily.
